The AWARENESS application asks "what are you doing right now?" because what you are doing is often related to what you are feeling. Feelings determine many of your actions, and actions may also give rise to specific feelings.
Over time you will be able to see patterns that show how your actions and your feelings are related. For example, you may find that you feel anxious when paying your bills, or frustrated during business meetings.
Escape Behaviors
Some of your actions may serve to distract you from or numb an unpleasant feeling. For example, you may find that you eat when you are anxious or lonely, or drink alcohol when you feel stressed. These activities are listed in the Escape tab.
Ask yourself if what you are doing right now is an attempt to escape from what you are feeling. Be honest with yourself. If it is, choose an activity from the Escape category. This way you can track these unhealthy behaviors and may choose to replace them with healthier ones.
